5 tips to lose weight and save your heart

Our hearts are actively working 24 hours a day, seven days a week to pump blood oxygen around our bodies. You need good health and help as possible to keep this good work, but unfortunately most of us abuse our bodies, causing degradation of the heart, leading to heart disease. The main cause of heart disease is high blood pressure and high cholesterol. One of the best ways to combat cholesterol and improve heart health is to lose weight, especially if you are obese morbid. Here are some tips to lose weight to ensure that your heart is doing a good job for many years to come:

1. not die: many people believe that the best way to lose weight is to not eat. This is not true at all, it comes more often faster your metabolism will burn the food, which in turn will help to lose weight. However, you can not eat anything. Need to increase their amounts of fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, and reduce your intake of saturated fat and carbohydrates.

2. March: although you can refuse the word 'exercise' there are many other ways to get going. Not everyone has time to visit the gym every day, but there are other ways to be active. Walk with your dog every day, clean your House, join a dance class and take the stairs instead of the elevator. These are all simple ways to activate the circulation and the fat melting.

3. drinking water: more than the times, when we feel as if we die of hunger, is actually our bodies clamoring for hydration. Not only is drinking adequate amounts of water good for skin, also help to feel more full and eat smaller portions when it gets. Try to at least eight glasses of water a day, especially if it is too hot or that is working.

4. breakfast: the only food which is often omitted, the breakfast is really the most important of the day. Kick-starts your metabolism to eat breakfast. Avoid the breakfast cereals that are high in sugar and carbohydrates.

5. healthy cuisine: one of the biggest problems with the meal is in preparation. Foods that have been fried in oil or covered in sauces and spices naturally are going to be higher in fat content. Opt for the meal to make it more healthy or steam and avoid adding too much salt.

Weight loss is a journey and remember that the journey is more important than the destination. Once you start to live a healthier life, you will feel and see the effects on the body and the mind. Be sure to regularly check their health and heart cholesterol levels so you can see the effects of weight loss on your heart at first hand.

11 Healthy Snacks For Your Heart

1. Vegetables Dipped in Hummus - Fresh vegetables are low in calories and have many antioxidants. Many of them have no fat whatsoever and instead give you plenty of fiber to make your stomach feel full. Hummus, made from chick peas, is a great alternative protein without saturated fat.

2. Fruit Skewered on a Stick with a Little Dark Chocolate for Dipping - Fruit has a variety of antioxidants to fight cancer and heart disease. Dark chocolate has a high concentration of flavinols, which is a type of antioxidant that helps fight heart disease, and is in fact recommended by doctors for this very purpose.

3. Half of a Cantaloupe Filled with Fat Free Cottage Cheese, a Dash of Cinnamon and Some Berries - The cantaloupe and berries are rich in antioxidants, and the fat-free cottage cheese counts as a serving of dairy, while avoiding the saturated fat.

4. Fat-free Yogurt with Fruit and a Sprinkle of Nuts - Here’s a chance of getting another serving of dairy that contains no saturated fat, but plenty of antioxidants from fruit and, on top of that, a bit of healthy, unsaturated fat from the nuts.

5. Smoothies with Silken Tofu and Berries plus a Dash of Grape Juice or Pomegranate Juice As most dieters know, tofu is an excellent alternative protein source without saturated fat. Berries, grape juice and pomegranate juice have a high concentration of antioxidants and are very good for you.

6. Homemade Soup - Start with a vegetable base in order to load up on antioxidants and fiber. Make sure you don’t buy something that’s rich in sodium because that’s something you definitely don’t want for your heart. Add a bag of frozen vegetables and mix in a couple of cups of beans. Canned beans are rich in sodium, so make sure to rinse them thoroughly before use. Season it with fresh herbs.

7. Pureed Prunes — Sneak Them into your Brownies - Pureed fruit is an excellent addition to chocolate brownies because it helps strengthen the taste of chocolate. Another good thing is that you've put in something that use less oil or less butter and you've also added antioxidants because of the pureed fruit. Also fruit has fiber to lower your cholesterol.

8. Silken Tofu or Soy Milk — Substitute for Regular Milk in Recipes - Using tofu or soy milk instead of regular milk is a good way of adding heart healthy protein, while at the same time cutting down on the heart-clogging calories of the other oils you might have used.

9. Applesauce or Apple Butter — Use in Place of Oil for Muffins - Apple butter is one of best ingredients you can add to moisture the mix and to give it that pleasant fruit flavor that won't combat your other ingredients.

10. Nuts and Small Chunks of Fruit — Sprinkle on Top of Muffins - If you substitute applesauce for the oil, you'll be making a muffin low in fat, chock-full of antioxidants from fruit, fiber from nuts, and heart-healthy protein from the nuts.

11. Meatloaf —
Use Tofu and Chopped White Chicken Meat Instead of Red Meat - This combination is absolutely great. The result will feel and taste just like meatloaf, but without the downside of eating red meat.

My Crazy Life Saving Heart Attack! (John Saeger)

Hi, this article is about my amazing weight loss story and how I was able to lose a lot of weight in a short amount of time. My wife was pregnant with our 1st child about 2 years ago when I had a heart attack! Even though I knew I could be in better shape and my fitness level was poor, I never really worried about it. I was comfortable with who I was, and liked the way I lived my life, or at least I thought I did. Even though I do not remember suffering from a severe heart attack, I do remember getting up in the hospital bed, seeing my pregnant wife crying her eyes out, and thinking to myself 'I need to better my life' not just for myself but for my pregnant wife and the kid we were expecting soon. Soon after getting up in my hospital bed and receiving more than enough pills and advice from doctors who told me everything that I already knew, 'I needed to lose a substantial amount of weight'.

Once I got back to my house, my wife quickly started removing any and all junk food she could find in the kitchen, and put me on a diet plan. About a month later I noticed I had only dropped 3 pounds since beginning the diet my wife put me on, however this didn't satisfy me. At this point I decided to do some digging on the web to try and find a better diet to help me speed up my weight loss, that's when it hit me, every tip, website, and YouTube video was trying to tell me the exact same thing, I have to get off my butt and start exercising! Exercising is nothing I was looking forward to since I was never a big fan of playing sports when I was in school, I didn't excel at sports and once I got out of high school I didn't do any kind of exercise because of this. Even though I knew I hated exercising, I had to make some positive changes, so I started going to my local gym and spoke with a fitness trainer who worked with me for 30 minutes each day to help me lose some serious weight, it wasn't strong exercise as I had only a short time ago had a heart attack but it did the job. After work each day I went to the gym and performed the exercises suggested to me by my trainer for the next 30 days. It was amazing to me when I realized I had dropped more than 15 pounds, and I was still on the same diet but exercising along with it. By the time my son was born I had lost just under 40 pounds, the doctors finally quit providing me with the pills and my exercise routine got a little more intense because my heart was now able to handle the extra pressure.

By the time my son had his first birthday, my fitness level had done a complete 360. Today, I do at least 3, hour long exercise sessions with my trainer a week, and I strongly believe my heart attack is the reason I am such a fitness junky now. Now I can play with my son longer since I have more energy, and I know I will be able to live a long and healthy life to see him grow up into adulthood. I'm of the strict diet now, I just eat a balanced diet as my BMI is now down to 26. But if you can learn anything from my story it is to eat a well balanced diet and exercise properly if you want to lose a good amount of weight in a reasonable amount of time. Processing ...
